Introduction
This website is the product and property of the MEDIACTION Project (henceforth MEDIACTION), organized by Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon and the Center for International Studies (CEI) in the terms described under the tab “MEDIACTION Project.” The purpose of this website is to provide students with access to the content developed by the project. By using this website and creating an account, the user is accepting the Terms and Conditions (“T&C”) established in the following text.

MEDIACTION reserves the right to modify the T&C at any time without advance notice, and any changes to the T&C will be made effective upon posting on this page. The date of the last alteration to the T&C can be consulted at the bottom of the page. By continuing to access this website the user accepts the updated T&C. Be sure to return to this page periodically, and ensure an updated knowledge of the T&C.

Rules of User Conduct
The user agrees that they are responsible for their use of the website and for their conduct within the website, as well as for any content produced by the user. - Viruses, trojan horses, worms, time bombs, corrupted files, malware, spyware, or any other similar software that may damage the operation of another's computer or property;
- Intentionally inaccurate content, or content that is posted with the intention of misleading others;
- Impersonate any person or entity, falsely claim an affiliation with any person or entity.
Creating a User Account
To create a user account, the user must be accepted by the organizers of the program and given permission to create the account. The user must provide the information that is marked as mandatory in the registration page, and may provide the information that is not marked as mandatory in the registration page. The user agrees not to divulge or share access to any third party for any reason. The user agrees that all information they provided is true, accurate, current, and complete, and agrees to maintain the information up to date at all times. The user is solely responsible for the activities that occur under their account.

MEDIACTION is the entity responsible for this website. The website user’s privacy and personal data protection are a priority for MEDIACTION and managed according to all applicable legal and regulatory standards.

This privacy warning explains how we treat personal data which we may collect when the user accesses and uses this website. By supplying personal data to the website, the user agrees with the use this instituion can give to the submitted personal data, within the scope of current privacy policy terms.

The personal information collected during the creation of the user account, as well as during the use of the website is used solely for the following purposes: to provid the user with the content developed by the project; to provide the user with the best experience possible; to enable the user’s participation in the projects developed by MEDIACTION; communication with the users, regarding the website or other projects developed by MEDIACTION; the aggregation of de-identified data for development, research, analytics, and other purposes related to the MEDIACTION project.

The user has the right to access the personal data they have provided to the website. The user may opt-out of receiving the information sent by MEDIACTION, limiting the treatment or soliciting that their data be erased from MEDIACTION registers. MEDIACTION may share the user’s personal data with other institutions, provided that they are used for the purpose for which they were collected, stated here. MEDIACTION may divulge personal data in response to a court order, for public interest, or other reasons determined by law. The sharing of personal data will never be made for promotional or marketing interests. MEDIACTION does not make promotional actions for third party profit. The user’s personal data is maintained for as long as necessary to fulfill its treatment purpose or as lawfully required. During retention period we guarantee its integrity and data access.

MEDIACTION guarantees adequate use of techniques, organizational and safety measures to protect personal data, avoiding its loss, mischievous use, tampering or destruction, guaranteeing its integrity, availability, and secrecy. It is demanded of all collaborators, to keep secrecy of personal data. Only authorized personnel have access to personal data.

If the user has any objections to the way MEDIACTION treats their personal data, they have the right to present a complaint to the capable control authority – the Portuguese Data Protection Authority / Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).
